Taste Local Wine & Cheese on this Train Ride!
The Wisconsin Great Northern Railroad is proud to be the new home of a very special railcar. The Sky Parlour, “Namekagon View” was built by Budd in 1956 for the famed El Capitan on the Santa Fe railroad. This train operated daily from Chicago to Los Angeles, a featured a new concept in passenger trains with its Hi Level cars. There were originally six “Top of the Cap” lounge cars built and five were subsequently remodeled in later years for a very special First Class lounge on Amtrak’s Coast Starlight. The car features a mahogany bar, booth seating area, cocktail sofas and plush comfy lounge seats on the upper level under the most magnificent dome-like glass. The bottom level features a 20-seat movie theater which may be used for presentations.
The Wine & Cheese train will feature four samples of Wisconsin-produced wine and award-winning cheese varieties from local cheese makers. The bar will also be available for additional libations. Get your friends and set a date for this special afternoon experience, kick back and relax while nature provides the show on this wine tasting train.
New for 2024, each guest will get a laser etched wine tumbler featuring a custom Sky Parlour Logo to take home as a memento of your adventure.
