Leisurely Wisconsin Dinner Train Ride

The Dinner Train boards at 5 pm each Tuesday through Saturday evening. Stop by the bar and grab a cocktail before settling into a comfortable seat in the lounge car or head right to your table in the dining car. The Wisconsin Great Northern Railroad gives you a private table if you come as a couple for your dinner train ride.

As the train departs the station around 5:30 pm, your server will bring an appetizer plate, a cup of soup and then your choice of one of five preselected entrees. A little later you will delight in a generous slice of Eli’s Gourmet Cheese Cake. Your Spooner dinner train ride ticket includes coffee, iced tea and lemonade. Other beverages are available from the cash bar.

The train travels at a very leisurely pace and you are able to get up and move around the train as it glides through farm fields, deep woods and along the scenic Namekagon River. LED lighting under the car illuminates the countryside after dark during early and late season runs. Around 8 p.m., the train returns to the station and parks for the night. The train is open all night so don’t be in a hurry to leave your new friends if you are having a special time.

Dinner/Motel Package: (June through October)

Check in at the Country House Motel at 717 S. River Street in Spooner between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. and get settled into your room.  The train station is just 6 mile north of the motel at the corner of US Hwy 53/63 and Dilly Lake Road.  Enjoy a few cocktails and your dinner train experience then head back to the motel  and swim in the heated indoor pool or just kick back in the hot tub.
