The Wisconsin Great Northern Railroad is proud to be the new home of a very special railcar. The Sky Parlour, “Namekagon View” was built by Budd in 1956 for the famed El Capitan on the Santa Fe railroad. The Wine & Cheese train will feature 4 samples of Wisconsin produced wine and award winning cheese varieties from local cheese makers. The full bar will also be available for additional libations.
As the train departs the station around 5 pm, your server will bring an appetizer plate, a cup of soup and then your choice of one of 5 preselected entrees. A little later you will delight to a generous slice of Eli’s Gourmet Cheese Cake. The train travels at a very leisurely pace and you are able to get up and move around the train as it glides through farm fields, deep woods and along the scenic Namekagon River. Halogen lighting under the car illuminates the countryside after dark during early and late season runs. Around 8 pm the train returns to the station and parks for the night. The train is open all night so don’t be in a hurry to leave your new friends if you are having a special time.
