PRIVATE CHARTERS
A Private Caboose, Car, or Complete Train

The Wisconsin Great Northern Railroad offers you the chance to charter individual cars or our whole train for a private party, wedding, anniversary, reunion or group gathering.  We have a variety of packages available including food service from simple hors de' oeuvres to prime rib.

Authentic Wooden Caboose (Up to 12 persons)

Looking for the perfect small group adventure?  Charter our authentic turn-of-the-century wood caboose.  This caboose was built and operated by the Algoma Central Railroad in Canada and was used as the mobile office and quarters for their train crews.  This caboose is unmodified and features the original bunks, oil stove, conductor’s desk, and 4 overstuffed seats in the cupola.  The little red caboose can be added to any of our regularly scheduled trains during the season and is available at other times for a stationary party.

Party Caboose (Up to 25 persons)

Looking for a great place to hold that private party?  The Wisconsin Great Northern Railroad has specially rebuilt this 1940’s steel caboose into the ultimate party car.  We have installed oversize windows in the end of the car, plenty of comfortable booth seating, warm woodwork throughout, a working restroom, and a food service area.  Bring the presents and have the birthday party your child will never forget.  Food and beverage service packages are available to make your celebration complete.

Club Arrowhead (Up to 40 persons)

The Arrowhead is our Solarium Observation car and features a plush 14 passenger observation lounge, table seating for 26, a beautiful mahogany bar, buffet table, service kitchen, private restroom.  Club Arrowhead is available for charter and is an excellent choice for that medium size group party, the perfect place for after work cocktails, and a great place to enjoy some hors d’oeuvres.  The solarium lounge features a clear view of the track through large end windows and great side views through six large picture windows.  The main body of the car features open windows next to each seat.  Ceiling fans keep the air moving and dimmed wall lights set just the right mood.  Club Arrowhead is the best way for a medium size group to see the north woods.

Charter the Train (Up to 200 persons)

If you have a large group, why not charter the whole train?  We can add our dining cars Presque Isle and Apostle Isle, our concession car, the Picnic Car, and Club Arrowhead to give you seating for up to 200 people.  Train charters can be during regularly scheduled trains or almost any other time.  We have a variety of food and beverage service packages including picnics and barbeques off the train at our Trego Jct. picnic grounds.  This service option is great for large companies, churches, schools, clubs, weddings, reunions, and anniversary parties.  Contact our party planners today to put together the perfect charter.
